Fire safety is definitely a topic in the harmonization of all standards in Europe.
The real challenge comes when high fire ratings need to be combined with strict acoustic requirements.
Merford Special Doors decided to undertake this challenge and it is now capable of supplying the market with unique solutions:
- EW, EI1 and EI2 30, 60, 90 and 120 fire-resistant hinged single- and double-leaf steel doors according to EN 1634-1 / EN 13501-1, combined with a tested sound insulation Rw value of 50 dB. Also tested and certified as escape doors.
- EI1 60 fire-resistant overhead steel doors according to EN 1634-1 / EN 13501-1, combined with a calculated sound insulation Rw value of 37 dB. The dimensions of the test oven were 5000 x 5000 mm, making extrapolations possible.
